How Video is Revolutionizing Product Launches

By Andrew Bourland | January 23rd, 2008

I don’t know if you’re like me, but I absolutely love to track pre-launch campaigns for Internet Marketing products. I learn so much in the process.Fact is, there are a couple going on right now that you really ought to pay attention to, just to see how it’s done right. The first one I’d recommend is Frank Kern’s (whose interview with ClickBank University you can check out at http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/index-kern.html).

Here’s where you can get on his notification list for his videos and check out a particularly good one: http://www.masscontrolsite.com

Another excellent example of using highly informative videos to presell a product was created by Armand Morin:
http://internetmarketingexplained.com/blog/

Be sure and check all those videos out before he takes them down, which should be fairly soon…

Then there are two GREAT examples of videos that actually take the place of a sales letter. One is from John Reese:
http://www.income.com/images/ima/imavideo.html
and another is from a guy I met on the Warrior Forum by the name of Jason Dinner, http://jasondinnercoaching.com/TheResults/indexpdc.html

You may wonder why I’m pointing all this out to you.

It’s because at ClickBank University, we’ve got a great 5 part series of videos on the “Fundamentals of Camtasia Studio” which, if you follow it, will teach you all you need to know to be able to create fantastic videos along the lines of what Frank Kern, Armand Morin and John Reese are doing quite successfully right now.

So be sure to incorporate video into your marketing mix.

That’s the thought for today…

ClickBank University Reopens for New Members

By Andrew Bourland | January 17th, 2008

On December 1st, we wrapped up our first phase of our overall launch strategy, had reached a goodly number of members, and needed to see if we were serving our customers with the right content.

Fortunately, we have a great group of members who kept me well informed as to what they were looking for out of ClickBank University — what they needed to succeed.

So I temporarily closed off registrations for membership and started hustling my butt off creating and obtaining the right content for our members. We’re now up to 36 video tutorials and 18 reports and various templates that can be used for specific applications — like setting up your own squeeze page or writing effective emails to members of your list.

Then on January 15th, we reopened the doors at ClickBank University, and are welcoming in a steady stream of new members. It’s great to have fresh blood at our site.

The last part of the puzzle I’ve been working on is our ClickBank University Forum (accessible to CBU members only). It was floundering.

Why?

Because I wasn’t devoting my time and effort into it.

So today, I changed all that. I wiped out all the old postings (nobody had posted since Christmas Eve) and set up a whole new structure for discussion.

And I set it up so that I would get notified everytime someone made a post so that I could get involved in the discussion early and often. Otherwise, it’s out of sight means out of mind.

So that’s going to breathe new life into CBU along with all the new members.

If you haven’t yet signed up for ClickBank University, I encourage you to visit our home page, watch the video tour, read the sales letter, and sign up.

And once you’ve joined, don’t hesitate to email me when you need support.

You’ll be hearing from me more often on this blog as well.

We’ll be talking again soon!

Andy

A Highly Recommended Tool for Building Your Business…

By Andrew Bourland | December 1st, 2007

One thing I firmly believe in and live by is that your education as an Internet Marketer is a continuous process.

There is no one eBook, infoproduct or membership site that is going to provide you with everything you need to succeed.

Including, might I add, ClickBank University!

I look at it this way: If I can get one, two or even three really good ideas that I can implement in my business and will make a difference, it was worth the price of admission.

If it doesn’t provide that value, I ask for a refund.

Simple as that.

So in the spirit of recommending additional tools that can really help you build your business, I want to give you my strongest personal and professional recommendation for Ewen Chia’s new Super Affiliates program.

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/recommends/SuperAffiliates

If you wish to launch or relaunch a long term, sustainable, highly profitable affiliate business, this program will provide you with a complete step by step process for how to do it.

Not WHAT to do. HOW to do it.

Let’s review what all is included:

MEMBERSHIP MODULE #1: A 15 step Action Blueprint with everything you need to know to start your Super Affiliate Business.

I personally read this entire eBook yesterday, and can readily say that you’ll find this to be one of the most valuable tools you will need to build and grow your affiliate business.

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/recommends/SuperAffiliates

MEMBERSHIP MODULE #2: A complete set of step by step video tutorials to take you through the process of securing a domain name, setting up a web site, setting up an autoresponder, opening up your ClickBank account — all the basic fundamental things you need to do to start your business that all the other programs pass by.

Frankly, much of this content is for Newbies, but I know from having heard from many of you that the majority of you ARE Newbies, and this is the information you’ve been begging for.

If you’re a Newbie in Internet Marketing and want to succeed online, this alone is worth the price of admission.

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/recommends/SuperAffiliates

MEMBERSHIP MODULE #3: A monthly audio interview with a highly successful, but not so widely know super affiliate, sharing their secrets of how they succeed as an affiliate.

Again, pick up 2 or 3 ideas out of this module alone and you’ll have even more good ammunition for builing your affiliae business.

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/recommends/SuperAffiliates

MEMBERSHIP MODULE #4: A monthly video case study of what Ewen or another successful Super Affiliate are doing to promote their businesses.

I’ve got the transcripts printed out and sitting next to me, and I can assure you they are being well marked up and emails are already being prepared for some changes I’m going to ask my webmaster to do to improve our marketing efforts.

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/recommends/SuperAffiliates

MEMBERSHIP MODULE #5: A Monthly “Mystery Business In a Box” in which Ewen provides you with all the tools you’re going to need to succeed in a particular niche:

Monthly businesses-in-a-box will each be targeting on a VERY hot market for you to profit from. For example, MLM, Forex, guitar, etc.

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/recommends/SuperAffiliates

I’ll tell you something quite frankly:

An offering like this really raises the bar in terms of the quality of content people are going to expect out of other sites like us — so as I completely revamp ClickBank University from top to bottom this month, you can be assured that being on a par with Ewen Chia’s offering is going to be top of mind.

But in the meantime, I sincerely urge and recommend that you sign up for Ewen Chia’s Super Affiliates program and get everything you can out of it.

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/recommends/SuperAffiliates

What you’ll get from Super Affiliates in combination with what we’re offering at ClickBank University will be something that can absolutely skyrocket your business.

But definitely take Ewen up on his offer.

It’s priced competitively. It packs a TON of content into each month. It’s all HIGHLY ACTIONABLE CONTENT.

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/recommends/SuperAffiliates

Sign up today and put it to work for you IMMEDIATELY.

My best wishes for your success,

Andy Bourland
President

A Business is a Business is a Business

By Andrew Bourland | November 22nd, 2007

Recently, I’ve had email conversations with a couple of members who had a story in common… They both had been working hard to implement the teaching they were learning at ClickBank University, but still hadn’t experienced any success.

It was hard for me to appraise exactly what was going wrong for these gentleman.

I haven’t seen the ads they’re running on Google.

I haven’t seen the landing page they’re driving them to.

I don’t know what they’re offering.

I don’t know how exactly they have targeted their audience.

These are all important factors in whether or not a business succeeds online… in fact, they’re crucial!

They might have picked extremely popular products that have a zillion other affiliates competing with exactly the same offer and landing page (the sales letter that the ClickBank vendors created in the first place) and it’s all boiling down to a luck of the draw.

An illustration of this problem can be found if you do a Google search on current Google Assassin or Affiliate Elite

The majority of the ads on the page link to exactly the same sales letter. How is anyone going to distinguish themselves in that kind of clutter?

One of the gentlemen was pursuing a very small market with a borderline product.

So he wasn’t getting much action, because there wasn’t much action to have.

Fact is, if you’re going to succeed, you’re going to have to find a way to distinguish yourself from the rest of your competitors who are going after the same sale.

If, for example, you focus on building your mailing list through offering quality, video reviews of hot products that may be of interest to people, you’ll be able to market to them — directly — over and over again.

In other words, you’ll be positioning yourself to market a number of products to the same people, over and over again, very cheaply, instead of having to recreate your marketing strategy every time a new product hits the market.

It’s the difference between building a business for the long run vs pursuing a series of separate opportunities.

I’m afraid that if what you’re pursuing are short term, one shot deals, we might not be of much help at ClickBank University. If you’re focusing on building a solid business for the long term, you’ll do real well.

Probably not what some people want to hear, but it’s the truth.

Here’s to long term, thriving businesses!

Our Members Spoke, We Responded

By Andrew Bourland | November 16th, 2007

I remember in the months before we launched ClickBank University, we struggled with a very tough question:

In making our content available, should we make all of it accessible at once? Should we make the entirety of each month’s content available? Or should we put it out there in easily manageable, bite sized chunks so that people could absorb it, have time to implement it, and then move on?

We decided to make it available in weekly increments.

We were wrong.

The feedback I’ve gotten from our members is that they’d like to move faster, that they would like more content to work with and they’d like to define their own pace at which they absorb and implement the content.

Since our initial decision wasn’t locked in stone, we are now modifying the way we deliver our content so that when the new month begins, you get all the content.

So if you’re one who likes to jump in feet first and plow through the content and then put it to work, that’s what you can do.

If you’re not, you can take your time and go through it at your own pace.

We’ll continue to bolster the content with relevant reports and interviews during the month to keep things interesting, but you’ll get the bulk of it up front.

My aim is happy members who hang on for the long run, and if that’s the way they prefer to receive their content, that’s what we’re going to do.

Simple as that.

How to Create a ClickBank Product in Less than a Day

By Andrew Bourland | November 13th, 2007

In short, interview an expert.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Jason “Profit” Moffat today released a new infoproduct appropriately titled “Instant InfoProduct”, which he sells through ClickBank for a miserly $25.

You can check out his introductory video (note the absence of a sales letter) at http://www.easyvideosales.com/Instant-Info-Product.html

The core of the product is an interview with a guy by the name of Shaune Clarke, whom Jason considers to be the “best interviewer on the planet”. I’m listening to it as I write, and I’ll tell you straight up: I don’t know whether Shaune is the best interviewer on the planet, but it’s good stuff.

Leading up to that interview, Jason outlines a few steps you can take to research the biggest questions your audience will have, find the right expert, and what you should use to record that interview.

I actually took action on the information contained in his infoproduct.

I took his advice on how to find the issues that are the most important to your niche, and actually came up with a total of 88 questions that are in the front of my customer’s minds.

I followed his guidance for finding experts, and have 3 that I have contacted for interviews. If all come through, I’ll have 3 infoproducts to offer.

… and I’m doing a variation of his suggestion for recording the teleconference, so all is good.

Bottom line, if you want to get rolling as a ClickBank Publisher, you can do so immediately by purchasing Jason’s “Instant InfoProduct” and implementing it as you go through it.

That’s my advice for today.

Let me know what you think…

Best of success,

Andy

Building a Long Term Sustainable Business Through ClickBank

By Andrew Bourland | November 12th, 2007

We got a ton of responses to the one question survey we mailed out yesterday, “What do you most want to learn about how to succeed with ClickBank?”

http://www.askdatabase.com/campaigns/?gt=1&a=5&b=21614

The most common request?

“How do I build a business that will be sustainable for the long run?”

What I’m hearing from you is that you don’t just want to make a quick hit on ClickBank and move on to something else…

You want to build a highly profitable business that will last!

Another common question?

“How is ClickBank University going to help me build a profitable business?”

Good question.

There are others who have asked how a curriculum covering AdWords,Article Writing, Teleseminars and Webinars, Autoresponder Copyriting and Camtasia going to help you really build a business.

So I worked late into the night crafting a report which would address these questions, head on.

When you join ClickBank University, I want you to be mentally prepared to incorporate the tools and information we provide into building the long term sustainable business you want.

So… here’s the report for your edification:

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/reports/BuildingYourFlock.pdf

If you have missed the other two reports we’ve created for you, here are the links:

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/ClickBankUniversity.pdf

http://www.clickbankuniversity.com/TheNewbieReport.pdf

I hope these reports are useful in helping you launch and grow the highly profitable, long term business you are looking for.

Keep me posted on how we can serve you better.

Profitable Passion and ClickBank

By Andrew Bourland | November 9th, 2007

Last summer, I met with a small mastermind group in southern New Hampshire. This group was comprised of about five or six highly successful guys in the online space. My mind was brimming over with good ideas by the time I drove home that night.

But there was one guy there who didn’t quite fit with the rest of the group.

Don’t get me wrong. Everybody liked him. He knew everybody. He was moderately successful in his online business, so in that sense, it was all good.

His online business comprised of providing an ongoing stream of eBooks and special reports (that people paid for, of course) to a large base of customers who were passionate about arts and crafts.  He had fashioned together a thriving community of passionate users who compared notes with each other, helped each other with various tips for doing this or that, and were always interested in seeing what my colleague would be rolling out next.

So far, so good. A lot of us would love to have that kind of business.

Only problem was, he had absolutely no interest in arts and crafts, and he didn’t really like his customers.

So even though he had a business of his own that was providing him a healthy enough income that he and his family were able to afford a lakefront home in New Hampshire and all the various amenities of life, he actually felt stuck in his job!

He was no better off now than he was when he left the corporate sales world behind years ago. He felt stuck, had financial and family obligations to tend to and felt limited in the moves he could make!

This is why I ask people — before they start doing all sorts of work researching “profitable niches” and “popular keywords” — that they first look within themselves to see what their passions are.

You might find that “investing in Iraqi Dinar” is a thriving and profitable niche, but over time will discover that you have absolutely no interest in it… and if it takes off successfully, you’re stuck in a niche that makes you just as miserable as your last job.

That’s why I shudder when so-called “gurus” encourage you to do all your niche research through keyword search tools. You may very well find several niches that could be very profitable for you, but make you miserable because you aren’t interested in the area and may not like the people who are attracted to it.

I feel lucky every day when I wake up, because I can go to work helping people to leave their day jobs and miserable commutes behind, and create their own highly prosperous online business doing work they passionately love and serving people they really like.

I love responding to phone calls and emails from people who are at the end of their rope, and are struggling to carve out a new life for themselves. Having been there, I feel honored to be able to help them get to where they want to go.

Serving the ClickBank marketing niche isn’t for everybody, but it’s for me.

And that’s how you ought to feel about whatever niche or market you decide to serve.

Don’t just get sucked in by the promise of big dollars. That’s the biggest mistake I see people making.

Do it because a) you love to do it and b) it’s a good business to do so if you do it well.

So here’s my wish that the passion you pursue will be profitable, and that your life will be fulfilled, and that like me, you’ll feel lucky getting out of bed every morning.

My best wishes for your success,

Andy
